Everybody hold up I'm now obsessed with the nastapoka arc in canada
#this shits kind of spooky#like what. how did this come to be#its so round?????#like. the ONLY explanation i can come up with for an area That nearly perfectly round is an impact crater#but apparently theres literally zero evidence of that! but also they havent looked since the 70s??#the other explanation is like idk tectonic activity and like sure but#also its like. so perfectly circular#and huge#also what the Fuck is up with the islands inside of the circle in the bay#why do they look like that!!!#i need to look into those next#probably just some wild metamorphosing but like. it looks sillay#these rocks are apparently literally archaic which is ALSO wild ive only ever seen archaic rocks in scotland#so maybe most of the impact evidence is just worn away by now
